Standing meetings can save billions - “TNO tested”

In this weekends paper there was a headline ‘Standing meetings can save over 10 Billion euro’s in Netherlands’. We love to read these kind of headlines because it brings up the need to be more efficient when organizing and holding meetings in companies and institutions. The essence of the article talks about the preference of people to continue with having standing meetings, which are shorter and more active as opposed to meetings where people sit and take more time to discuss the same subjects and achieve the same results.

With our innvirements we support and stimulate teams to be more active and stand during the discussions. Not only is the most important part of communication* more present this way, there are a lot of other benefits to stand more during a meeting, even without the table;

- Standing you often have a better bloodflow, body posture, resulting in a more active participation
- Standing you change positions more often, allowing to be more visible to others, move closer to results captured on a board or flipover, actively be involved in creating content
- Standing meetings allow a better view of all the content, especially when there is no table at all, and all results are captured centrally.

So although there is reason for a sitting meeting from time to time, we should organize ourselves much more often in standing meetings, or meetings that enable seating but only temporary, to keep the activity going.

innvire lectures on the need for creativity in the workplace

On the 12th of November innvire’s ilya Devèrs provided a refreshing speech on the need for creativity in the workplace.

He drew from examples by the recently published book “Oh wat zijn we creatief” which represents a thorough investigation on creativity in the workplace, executed by the “FD” publishing group.

While at first glance the title seems soft and out of place, it provides excellent insight in why creativity is one of the main drivers for innovation. The presentation will be shared on this very website soon.

innvire moves to new location!

innvire moved! From October 1st we found our new home in the Tollens Fabriek, which is an old paint factory, protected by law because of its landmark architecture. On the second floor of this old factory we have established a 300 square meter innovation workplace with excellent light, acoustics and furniture.
