We want our people to take full advantage of the possibilities of our new workplace, but it seems like they resist the change…

Physical changes can be managed as a ‘project’. At a certain moment the walls are standing, furniture is installed and cupboards and desks can be moved around. Planning and coordinating such events that complete the project step by step is project management, the management of changes.

People don’t change in the same way as their physical surroundings. For people to come to grips with the new situation requires a transition. Such changes are more gradual. Done right the process allows for grief when letting the old reality go, directing energy towards positive goals during the neutral zone and embracing the new beginning. Sometimes just a communication campaign and a training is all that is needed, it depends on the amount of transition that is required. Communication and Training are just two of the instruments that can play a role in successful transition management.

The result of a successfully managed transition is that every involved employee can explain why the things are changing the way they do. To be able to do this they must ‘get it’ in their own way. We make sure they do, and in the process make as many people as enthusiastic as can be about their new working environment and the workstyle that accompanies it. This in turn yields the goals that were originally intended when the program started.

When we are done the people in your organization are more productive and feel at home in the new environment.

Our result: more productivity and more motivated people, feeling at home. When people feel better in their work-environment they collaborate and perform better.
